A Day Inside The UNCC Architecture Studio
This photo series documents architecture students as they collaborate to build scale models of a proposed Amtrak and light rail station in Uptown Charlotte. The images capture their unique experience, very different from the traditional academic environment of lectures and cramming in the library. Instead, their days are filled with cutting materials, 3D printing, painting details, and drafting designs on their laptops.
The series follows the students throughout a full day in studio, highlighting both the intensity and creativity of their process. It also showcases the beauty and personality of the studio “bays,” as the students call their workspaces. Through these images, the photos reveal the collaborative energy and craftsmanship of the architectural program.
